ARTISTS STATEMENT - GLENDA EGAN DREW
"My creative work is embedded in an combination of information graphics and media-related technologies that potentially stimulate a new form of engagement. My work is a visual investigation into history, culture and meaning and I see it as an act of solidarity with my subjects, who are the marginalized communities and cultural aspects of technology. I often work in a deconstructive way and include the process of the technology itself in the final work.
I have exhibited screen-based projects throughout the US and abroad. I have a master's degree from San Francisco State University in Interdisciplinary Arts and Education and am currently an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication at the University of California, Davis." |
